Wedding Pictures

Some time ago I was sent the link to some wedding pictures. For whatever reason I hadn't looked until today. They're lovely and the wedding look like it was beautiful.
However, there were some which made me openly chuckle...;)

For example....
Is LOM attempting here to become a LOF?

He even looks like he's trying to apologise for it here!

LMAO

Well done G... I shall remember your culinary genius around christmas time...;)

As for the Span...
Well she looks lovely in all of them - However in number 2447 she does look like she's about to kill the photographer! :) lmao
She told me which one was her fav and although i agree that she is working hard to entertain that little one there is another photo that made me smile much more.;)

She looks very pretty in pink.

Pelicanies

Pelicans are funny ol' things. Firstly, they are enormous and when one flies past you can't help but wonder how on earth it's staying up there! We often see them perched by the inlet further up the beach and on some mornings they can be found patiently sitting next to a fisherman, waiting for a free lunch.

Today we went on a little walk up to Henley. A walk which took us along the beach and past several cuttle fish! (LOF's Dad was trying to find the biggest one to take home) When we got to the point where the river meets the sea, as usual there were some fisherman quitely waiting for some supper, along with their "little" friends the Pelican.

I can understand now, why, the pelicans stay so close to the fishermen. If the fish he caught was too small he chucked it to the Pelli! Free lunch! Excellent. We managed to get some ace shots too.

See they're enormous!

Pauline arrested for Dog Theft

Mrs Williams, currently of no fixed abode has been arrested for the abduction of several small four legged woolies. A severe warning has been issued to all dog owners in the Glenelg and West beach areas of Adelaide. Local residents are worried and conerned as the defendant has been seen with several "[pocket sized" dogs over the last few days. Concerns grew as yesterday she was caught holding one such animal whilst chanting the name "noodles" in repeated sucession.

Some of the Canines are clearly enjoying the attention whilst other are being left dazed and traumatised.

Others are left just a little confused!

LOF and Moch are now getting worried that the Land lord will find the stash of doggies that she has been collecting! ;)
Something tells me there will be a new addition to the family in Arthog upon their return! LMAO

There are now 96 pictures of their visit here! Take a look ;)

A trip to the Flinders

Now... I told a good friend who professes to be an avid reader of the blog that we were off to the Flinders this weekend... I then gave him a link to a couple of websites which had nice pictures of the ranges on... I was then told to blog all about it- Apparently he hadn't spotted the last 2 blog entries! LMAO... Well Runky Dunk Spunk... I hope you're paying attention now!

This is a picture that LOF took of the beautiful ranges at sunset. The ranges are 400KM north of Adelaide which meant that LOF and I have driven around 700miles this weekend. Driving in Australia is a very different experience to driving in the UK and the miles, down straight, lonely roads always seem to go much faster than you'd think. 700 Miles doesn't feel much more harrowing that the 3hr drive we used to make to Barmouth now and then.

On this road trip we had two new guests; LOF's dad and his other half. They were quite amazed at just how flat the landscape was and were very amused to discover that there are towns around that are even more remote than sleepy 'ol Arthog. We even stopped for a Cuppa in Redhill "Bryn Coch" which must have felt like a home from home - especially as P could make her tea just as she liked it whilst LOF's Dad was tucking into a meat pie.

The main aim with the Flinders is always two fold. The beautiful landscape, which holds such a contrast to the hundreds of KMs of flat land that you drive through to get to it, and the Wildlife. A huge population of Kangaroos and Emus just love to hang out at the Flinders.

The roos were a little evasive at first. I think it must have been a little cold under the trees for them. Thankfully as we drove out (at prime roo time - Sunset) they were all out in the fields, sunning themselves and bouncing about like well erm.. Kangaroos!

As we were walking around the Wilpena Pound, we fully expected to see the huge numbers of Roos that are usually munching on the leaves at the side of the path. Unfortunately they were no where to be seen. We walked as far as the Homestead which is the house where the original owners of the pound used to live and LOF and his dad decided to use the Bush toilet just around the back of the house. I was sitting quietly on a nice, square bench listening to the sounds of the birds and reminising about my back garden in Fryer Rd when I heard an almighty
"OH MY GOD!" from P followed by "ITS HUGE! WHAT IS IT? I CAN'T BELIEVE IT! OH MY GOD"
This is what she had spotted. And this is it's acutal size

It's a great Orb spider and LOF's dad noticed it dangling just above the rather tall LOF's head as he went for a PEE. Instead of being freaked out like any normal person LOF thought that this was ace and saw it as a good opportunity to add another creature to his "possibly the deadlyist creatures ever!" zoo. We have dubbed her Nigela. It was going to be Big Nige but we learnt later (from consulting the amazing book of spiders) that this is a girl spider.

We also saw some really cool eagles and a Vulture/Buzzard who was feeding on an ill fated marsupial. Ohh and some really cool, slightly elusive green birdies who were eating leaves!

we stayed in Port Augusta, as we always seem to do :) and then we drove back through the wine regions. We only visited 3 this time and they were the big ones. Penfolds

Jacob's Creek

and Wolf Blass

Needless to say we all had a good time and the wine was flowing freely. LOF's dad was heard to remark at how great it was that they could get sloshed for free.

It was a lovely weekend but I was glad to get home, put my feet up and have a cup of tea after all that driving. ;)

Happy Birthday to Me!!

It's my birthday:)

Weeee!!

I didn't go to work, I opened my pressies after a nice lie in then, whilst I was eating brecky, a parcel from Mum and Dad arrived... I spent the afternoon shopping and buying myself new things! Then when I got home another package had arrived from my sister :) A day of continual pressies :)

We've spent the evening at Warrawong park looking at the kangaroos, potaroos and bandicoots. We had dinner there whilst watching the possoms eat from the bird table on the other side of the glass :) Fun FUN Fun

Thank you to everyone who had taken the time to send me a card and a pressie. Here's a selection...;)

I even got a letter from Tony Blair today - can you see it in the picture? LOL.

I'm looking forward to wearing my new Piggy Pjs and Pink, furry slippers whilst eating some English Cadbury's and reading my little book of wisdom and smiling at the pictures of my boys relaxing in the garden. I'll also be wetting myself laughing as I listen to the Tim Mitchin CD that LOF got me. (Span you really have to listen to it... particularly the one about how you know if it's true love ;) I might email you the mp3) Then I've been shopping to make sure that I have nice outfits to go with my new necklaces (one of which I am wearing so it's not in the picture) and I can make sure I'm warm in my Adelaide jumper and new piggy socks. As for Sid, the mini pig... he's replacing the Koala key ring that LOF decapitated two days ago... Was it a planned assassination??? Poor lil' quarley!

I've been a very lucky girl :) Thanks everyone :)

New visitors to report on..

I will try and add as much as I can so LOFs sis can see what we can see!
we'll shove the images up on Flickr too. So check there for more.

So far we have wandered a little around the main sites of the city, had a look at Glenelg and gone for a wander at Moirialta - Koala time! The central Market was a hit and we couldn't resist buying some fresh fruit and veg - LOOK HOW CHEAP IT IS! ;)and Lof's dad had to buy the obligatory Aussie man hat which he is now slowly covering in pin badges :)!

We bumped into this little chap. Who was very cute and was being carried around the city. A lovely couple from the hills had adopted him and had brought him shopping to see if they could raise money to keep looking after him. He was tiny! bless! BOING!!

The walk around the falls was lovely too. We completed the base walk and saw the falls from the bottom and then carried on up, the steep incline, and around the top so we could see the falls from the top. The men were then hungry so we drove down the M1 to Handorf and they all had a roast dinner! lol. and beer.

In slightly more unexpected news... Mum and Dad have actually managed to make a decision and have booked a flight!! woo hoo!!! :) I'm happy now :)

i'm looking for some of these... A few white ones and a few different coloured ones too...

But...

I can only find them in Australia! There has to be somewhere in the UK that does them...

So there's the competition... A free koala to the first person who can find a supplier!

Where we live now

This is the city of adelaide..

have a look

Unfortunately our house is about 10 mins drive from the bottom left hand corner of the map... ;)

The shops are on the line with the words Hindley and Rundell street... where there are no words and lots of circles... that's the shops:)

Do you know a Sam?

It was at this point - according to LOF - that you should have run away laughing or (as he did the other night) start talking in a mock exorcists styleee..

Here's a couple of reasons why....

By the way I have read his autobiography which includes a guide to tuning your spirit. My favorite bit are the stories where he tells us that as a boy he could bring to life his dinner. Like the fresh fish he carried home one night for his mother....
Oh and that the first time he saw a ghost it appeared to him on a toilet door, whilst he was sat on the loo.

I used to make us all sit and watch MH all the time... I remember vividly the moment this happened and the sheer delight it gave LOM and Bogus...

and this one had an extra bit lol apparently they thought it funny too... lol

For our Australian viewers (lol) who don't have the pleasure of Most Haunted...

Australian Tv Ads

Those who have spoken to me whilst i am out here will know my opinion on Australian TV and some of the appaulling adverts that are on ALL THE TIME. However, from time to time one of them will catch my eye and impress me...

I'm not sure about this one. I think the person who created it was a genius - however... I'm not sure I like or approve of the idea behind it!

This one used to make me crackup every time

In fact there's a whole series of these genius ads!

This one is also pretty cool!

and this one was band

because Aussie's complained about the underage driver!! Lol

and because it's your summer....
This was out when we got here 6 months ago and is great!
